Razer Blade Pro GTX 1080

When it comes to gaming laptops, the market is mostly dominated by the Acer range of Predator gaming laptops. However, turn the dial back the clock a bit and Razer was once the go-to company for gaming laptops. The original Razer Blade was flashy and packed all the performance for mobile gaming, though it did have a tendency to heat up. Other versions soon followed and now the latest iteration, the Razer Blade Pro now features Nvidia’s desktop-class GTX 1080 graphics card.

The 17-inch Razer Blade Pro, which is also the largest laptop the company makes, also manages to retain its slimness by being only 0.88 inches thick. In comparison, the Retina Macbook Pro is 0.71 inches thick. The laptop also sports a stunning 17-inch 4K IGZO G-SYNC touchscreen display. The display buddied up with Nvidia’s G-Sync technology, which synchronises the refresh rate of the display with the GPU, results in less screen tearing and stutter to give you smoother and faster gameplay. Furthermore, the 17-inch display boasts viewing angles as wide as 170 degrees with full Adobe RGB coverage.

Meanwhile, inside the chassis sits a powerful sixth generation Intel Core i7-6700HQ quad-core processor that can clock up to 3.5GHz. The resulting combination of the processor and the GPU is fluid gaming in 4K resolution at Ultra settings as well as the added bonus of being VR ready. That’s right, you can use the Razer Blade Pro to strap on your virtual reality headset.

The Razer Blade Pro also features the world’s first ultra-low-profile mechanical keyboard powered by Razer Chroma. It features anti-ghosting capabilities, optimised reset points and an actuation force of 65g. Razer states that the keyboard delivers the same feel as a traditional mechanical keyboard and the performance to boot.

A full list of specifications can be seen below:

  • Intel Core i7 6700HQ (2.6GHz quad-core, overclockable to 3.5 GHz)
  • 17.3-inch 4K IGZO screen with G-Sync and 100 percent Adobe RGB coverage
  • 99 watt-hour battery
  • Chroma lighting system
  • 3 USB 3.0 ports, ThunderBolt 3 (USB-C port).
  • Storage options from 512 GB SSD (PCIe M.2) to 2TB
