ouTube creators now have a new ally in their fight against account hijacking. The platform has introduced an AI-powered chatbot, the “Hacked Channel Assistant,” to streamline the often-frustrating process of recovering compromised accounts.
Available through the YouTube Help Center, this tool guides creators through a series of questions and information submissions, aiding them in reclaiming control of their accounts. If successful, it helps secure associated Google login credentials, reverses any unauthorized changes, and provides valuable tips for future prevention.
While currently limited to English language support and certain creators, Google plans to expand its availability. It’s worth noting that high-profile accounts might receive additional assistance or dedicated features.
If you can’t access the chatbot yet, you can still reach out for help via @TeamYouTube on X or the YouTube Creator Support team (for eligible accounts).
Remember, strong, unique passwords and two-factor authentication remain crucial for protecting your YouTube account. This new AI chatbot offers an added layer of support in the unfortunate event of a hack.
