Xiaomi has officially introduced its latest foldable smartphones, including the company’s inaugural flip phone, the Mi Flip. These cutting-edge devices, the Mix Fold 4 and Mi Flip, are poised to make a splash in the high-end foldable market in China.

The Mix Fold 4 refines the previous generation’s design, offering a sleek 9.47mm profile when folded and a featherlight 226g weight. Its dual displays, a 6.56-inch outer screen and a 7.98-inch inner screen, boast impressive 120Hz refresh rates, 3,000 nit peak brightness, and support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. The hinge, rated for 500,000 folds, ensures durability, and the phone is now IPX8 water and dust resistant for added protection.

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the Mix Fold 4 offers ample power with 12/16GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 256GB to a massive 1TB. A 5,100mAh battery keeps it running, supported by 67W wired and 50W wireless charging.

The inner display houses an under-display selfie camera, while the rear boasts a Leica-tuned quad-camera setup featuring a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP 3.2x zoom lens, a 50MP 5x periscope zoom lens, and a 12MP ultrawide lens.

Joining the Mix Fold 4 is the Mi Flip, Xiaomi’s first clamshell foldable. It features a compact 15.99mm profile when closed, weighing a mere 192g. The Mi Flip sports a 4.01-inch cover display and a 6.86-inch inner display.

Like its sibling, the Mi Flip runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor with 12/16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. It houses a 4,780mAh battery with 67W wired charging.

The Mi Flip’s camera system includes a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP 2x telephoto lens, and a 32MP selfie camera embedded in the inner display. Leica’s expertise is evident in the camera tuning and various shooting modes and filters available.

Both devices come in Black, White, Blue, and a unique composite fiber variant. The Mix Fold 4 starts at $1,237 for the base model and goes up to $1,513 for the highest configuration. The Mi Flip offers a more affordable starting point at $825, with higher-end models reaching $1,004.

While Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed a global launch, there’s hope that these innovative foldables will make their way to other markets soon.
