Tesla has unveiled new Sports Seats specifically for the Model S Plaid. These upgraded seats are designed to meet the demands of drivers who push the boundaries of this powerful sedan. With a staggering sub-2-second 0-60 mph acceleration, the Model S Plaid generates intense forces that can shift the driver in standard car seats, potentially affecting control.
The new Sports Seats focus on improved support. They feature pronounced side bolsters that hug the driver’s body, keeping them securely positioned during aggressive cornering and maneuvers. This added support can boost driver confidence, translating to a more engaging and focused experience behind the wheel.
Tesla detailed the benefits of these new seats on X (formerly Twitter). This upgrade is now standard in all Model S Plaid vehicles built from April 2024 onwards, a welcome change for buyers of this high-performance model. Unfortunately, retrofitting older Model S Plaids won’t be possible.
