Spotify is offering selected users a new way to experience their favorite songs, with music videos. The streaming giant is adding the new feature to its mobile and desktop apps in some markets. Music videos are currently in a limited beta release.
For now, this feature is limited to 11 markets: Brazil, Colombia, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Netherlands, Poland, Philippines, Sweden, and the UK. Spotify plans to expand availability and its catalog over time.

Unlike competitors like YouTube Music and Apple Music, Spotify’s music videos aren’t found in a separate section of the app. Instead, they’re integrated directly into the “Now Playing” screen. If a song has an official music video, a “Switch to Video” button will appear. Tapping this button instantly starts the video, replacing the album artwork.
Key Features:
- Seamless Transition: Switching between audio and video is easy with a single tap.
- Full-Screen Viewing: Videos can be rotated to landscape mode for a full-screen experience.
- Background Play: Switch back to audio at any time during the video.
- Desktop Support: The feature extends to Spotify’s desktop app and compatible Smart TVs.
