Samsung has introduced the Galaxy XCover7 and Galaxy Tab Active5, designed to meet the demands of challenging field and frontline work scenarios. The devices, focusing on versatility, optimization, and security, bring enhanced mobility with 5G connectivity, upgraded mobile processor performance, and increased memory.

The XCover7 features a new powerful rear camera and an expanded display size and resolution, while the Tab Active5 offers replaceable batteries and No Battery Mode for flexible working environments.

According to a report from IDC Marketscape, ruggedized mobile devices are gaining traction, with 38% of U.S. enterprise organizations deploying them in 2022, and an additional 38% planning to acquire more devices through 2023. The reliability and durability of ruggedized devices cater to various industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, retail, and government.

The Galaxy XCover7 and Galaxy Tab Active5 are built to last, featuring IP68-rated water and dust resistance, along with MIL-STD-810H military standard durability. Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus®+ and Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5 enhance durability and scratch resistance. The devices also allow for adjustments to touch sensitivity, making them suitable for workers wearing gloves, and have been extensively tested for sanitizer use.

With upgraded connectivity, both devices support 5G and Wi-Fi standards, facilitating efficient collaboration. The XCover7 boasts a 6.6-inch display with increased resolution, while the Tab Active5 offers an 8.0-inch display with enhanced brightness and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Fast-charging capabilities and replaceable batteries minimize downtime for users in the field.

For added security, the devices feature Knox Vault, protecting critical data and security keys. The Galaxy XCover7 and Galaxy Tab Active5 will be available starting January 2024.
