Marshall Milton ANC brings retro style and 80-hour battery

Marshall has launched the Milton ANC, a new pair of on-ear headphones that blend the brand’s signature retro styling with modern audio features. Priced at $229 in the US, the model aims to stand out in a crowded market where many premium options prioritize specs over personality.

The design draws heavily on Marshall’s classic amplifier aesthetic, featuring textured ear cups, a leather-like finish, and a foldable build. It avoids the plain black plastic look common in this category, offering something more distinctive without sacrificing everyday practicality.

Battery life stands out as one of the stronger practical claims. Marshall rates the headphones for more than 50 hours with adaptive noise cancellation active and over 80 hours without it. A replaceable battery adds a welcome nod toward long-term usability, an area where many wireless headphones still fall short. Full charging takes about two hours.

On the performance side, the Milton ANC includes adaptive ANC that adjusts to the environment, Transparency mode for awareness of surroundings, and Adaptive Loudness to maintain audio balance across different volumes. The built-in Soundstage spatial audio processing, accessible via the Marshall app, attempts to widen the sound field for a more immersive listen.

Audio comes from 32mm drivers covering a 20Hz to 40kHz frequency range. Bluetooth 6.0 support includes LE Audio compatibility along with SBC, AAC, LC3, and LDAC codecs, giving users solid options for higher-quality streaming where supported.

These features place the Milton ANC in the upper mid-range segment, competing against established players from Sony, Bose, and others that often pack similar noise cancellation and battery claims. The retro design and repairable battery give it some differentiation, though real-world performance in noisy environments and codec support will ultimately determine its value for different listeners.

The headphones are available now directly from Marshall’s website. While the combination of style and battery life makes them worth considering for those who want something that doesn’t look generic, prospective buyers should weigh the $229 price against more established competitors offering longer track records in ANC performance.
