ASUS launches ROG Zephyrus Duo dual-screen OLED gaming laptop in UAE

ASUS has introduced the ROG Zephyrus Duo GX651AX to the UAE market, a 16-inch gaming laptop featuring dual OLED displays. Positioned as a versatile option for gamers and creators who want extra screen real estate in a portable form, the device arrives with flagship specifications but carries a premium price tag of AED 33,999 for exclusive preorder on the ASUS eShop starting 18 May 2026.

The standout element is the pair of 16-inch ROG Nebula HDR OLED touchscreens, both offering 3K resolution, 120Hz refresh rates, rapid 0.2ms response times, full DCI-P3 color coverage, and peak brightness reaching up to 1100 nits. This setup allows users to run games on the primary display while keeping reference materials, chat windows, streaming software, or editing timelines visible on the secondary screen. It echoes earlier dual-screen experiments in the laptop space, though the larger 16-inch panels and OLED technology mark a noticeable step forward in visual quality compared to previous generations that relied on smaller secondary LCDs.

Flexibility comes through five usage modes: Dual Screen, Laptop, Sharing, Book, and Tent configurations. A detachable magnetic keyboard can operate in standard position or wirelessly, which helps when switching between gaming sessions and collaborative work. For video editors, the layout supports splitting timelines and previews; streamers gain a dedicated monitoring view; coders can tilt the device into Book Mode for extended vertical space. These adaptations address real-world multitasking needs without requiring an external monitor, though the dual-screen design inevitably adds some bulk and potential durability concerns over time.

Under the hood, the GX651AX uses an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor paired with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU. This combination handles demanding AAA titles with ray tracing and DLSS upscaling, while also supporting AI-enhanced creative workloads, 3D rendering, and 4K video editing. NVIDIA’s latest features provide tangible performance gains in supported applications, yet power consumption and heat remain challenges in any high-end laptop. ASUS counters this with a custom vapor chamber cooling system and optimized airflow tailored to the dual-display chassis. A 90Wh battery, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI 2.1, and an IR camera with Windows Hello round out the feature set. Dolby Atmos audio delivers solid immersion for media consumption.

The chassis follows the established Zephyrus aesthetic with CNC-milled aluminum in a Stellar Grey finish and customizable Slash Lighting on the lid. It maintains a relatively slim profile for its capabilities, making it suitable for both desk setups and occasional travel, although the weight and screen vulnerability of dual OLED panels may limit appeal for users constantly on the move. At launch, eligible preorder customers can also claim a LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight game bundle, alongside ASUS Perfect Warranty coverage for accidental damage when registered promptly.

Overall, the ROG Zephyrus Duo GX651AX refines the dual-screen concept for a broader audience of power users. It delivers genuine productivity benefits in a portable package, yet the high cost and specialized form factor mean it will appeal most to those who already multitask heavily across gaming and creative tools. Whether the added screen real estate justifies the premium over single-display flagships remains a personal calculation, but the hardware certainly pushes the boundaries of what current laptop designs can achieve.
