Rumors are circulating about the upcoming iPhone 17 Air, with new details emerging about its potential thickness. This model, expected to be Apple’s thinnest iPhone yet, is being positioned as a competitor to devices like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.
Recent leaks, including CAD-based renders of the iPhone 17 lineup, have highlighted a redesigned camera module across most models. Now, a leaker, IceUniverse, has provided specific measurements for the iPhone 17 Air.
According to IceUniverse, the iPhone 17 Air will measure 9.5mm in thickness, including the camera hump, which is said to be 4mm thick. This contrasts with the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which measures 8.25mm without its camera protrusion.
Based on these details, the iPhone 17 Air’s body is estimated to be 5.5mm thick, differing from earlier speculations of 6.25mm. The camera hump is expected to house a single 48MP camera, similar to the one found in the iPhone 16 Pro.
If the rumored shared dimensions with the iPhone 17 Pro Max are accurate, the iPhone 17 Air will likely feature a 6.55-inch display. Apple is also anticipated to transition to in-house Wi-Fi chips.
While IceUniverse has a track record of reliable leaks, it’s advised to approach these details with a degree of skepticism until official confirmation from Apple.
