The rumor mill has been churning for months, but this latest hands-on video gives us our closest look yet at the iPhone 16’s design changes. From the vertical camera setup to the new Capture button, Apple has packed a few surprises into its next-generation smartphone.

iPhone 16 Design Changes: Everything You Need to Know

While the iPhone 16 may look similar to its predecessor at first glance, a closer look reveals some key differences:

  • Vertical Camera Array: The iPhone 16 ditches the diagonal camera arrangement for a vertical one. This move likely paves the way for spatial video capabilities, perfect for the Vision Pro headset.
  • Action Button for All: The Action button, previously exclusive to the Pro models, will now grace all four iPhone 16 models. This customizable button offers quick access to various functions, from toggling the flashlight to launching specific apps.
  • Introducing the Capture Button: Perhaps the most exciting addition is the Capture button, strategically placed below the power button. This capacitive button will likely offer a range of functions depending on the pressure applied, potentially revolutionizing how we interact with our iPhones.

Hands-On with the iPhone 16 Dummies

Thanks to YouTuber Zollotech, we now have a detailed look at five iPhone 16 dummy units showcasing the rumored color options: white, black, blue, green, and pink. The video offers a 360-degree view of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, highlighting their similarities in size and thickness to their predecessors.

Beyond the Dummies: What to Expect from the iPhone 16

While the hands-on video focuses on the external design, we can still anticipate other upgrades:

  • Dynamic Island Display: The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to retain the Dynamic Island display, providing a seamless and immersive viewing experience.
  • Upgraded Internals: Expect improved performance and efficiency with Apple’s latest A-series chip and other internal enhancements.

The iPhone 16 may not be a radical redesign, but the subtle changes, especially the addition of the Action and Capture buttons, could significantly enhance the user experience. We’re excited to see how these features work in practice when the iPhone 16 officially launches later this year. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the September 10th unveiling!
