Instagram has quietly launched a new feature that allows users to schedule direct messages (DMs). The feature is now available globally, providing a convenient way to plan and send messages at specific times.
DM scheduling offers several benefits for both individuals and creators. Creators and brands can use this feature to schedule outreach messages at optimal times to maximize engagement. Individuals can schedule messages to reach friends in different time zones or send reminders for future events.
To schedule a DM, users can compose their message, hold down the send button, and select a desired date and time. Messages can be scheduled up to 29 days in advance. A banner will appear in the chat window, notifying the user of the scheduled message until it is delivered.
This update is part of Instagram’s ongoing efforts to enhance its DM capabilities. Recent additions include location sharing within DMs, customizable nicknames, and improved message filtering and sorting tools for creators.
