Google Pixel 9 Pro: leaked specs hint at significant RAM and modem upgrades

Anticipation for the upcoming Google Pixel 9 series is building, and recent leaks on the XDA forums have shed light on some potentially exciting specifications for the Pixel 9 Pro.

While the inclusion of a new Tensor G4 chipset is expected, the leaked information suggests a significant upgrade in RAM capacity. The Pixel 9 Pro is rumored to boast a whopping 16GB of RAM, a notable increase from the 12GB found in its predecessor, the Pixel 8 Pro. Whether this massive RAM boost will be standard across all Pixel 9 Pro models or reserved for a higher-tier variant remains unclear.

Furthermore, the leak indicates a potential RAM upgrade for the non-Pro models as well. While details are scarce, this suggests that Google might be pushing the boundaries of performance across its entire Pixel 9 lineup.

Another noteworthy revelation from the leak is the inclusion of Samsung’s Exynos 5400 modem in the Pixel 9 Pro. This represents a substantial upgrade from the Exynos 5300 modem used in the previous Pixel Pro model. Samsung claims that the Exynos 5400, based on the 3GPP Release 17 standard, offers a maximum data throughput of 14.79Gbps, potentially paving the way for faster and more reliable connectivity.

While these leaked specifications are yet to be officially confirmed, they offer a tantalizing glimpse into the potential capabilities of the Pixel 9 Pro. With a significant increase in RAM and a cutting-edge modem, Google’s next flagship smartphone could deliver a truly impressive user experience.
