Google may soon offer quick access to Gemini AI chatbot in Chrome

Google seems to be working on a shortcut to its Gemini AI chatbot directly within the Chrome address bar. Typing “@gemini” could soon give you instant access for quick conversations.

This move, reported by Windows Report, would streamline the process of using Gemini, eliminating the need to visit the official website.

This integration makes sense considering Google’s AI advancements. Gemini has technically been in Chrome since February, powering the “help me write” feature. With Microsoft aggressively promoting its Copilot AI across products, it’s natural for Google to keep pace.

How to Try Gemini in Chrome (If You’re Feeling Adventurous)

While not yet fully functional, you can test this potential feature using Chrome Canary, Google’s experimental browser:

  1. Install Chrome Canary (if you don’t have it already)
  2. Type “chrome://flags” in the address bar and hit enter.
  3. Enable the “Expansion pack for the site” starter pack.
  4. Restart Chrome Canary.

You should now be able to try chatting with Gemini from the address bar, though keep in mind it’s still under development. Whether this feature reaches the main Chrome release remains to be seen.
