OpenAI continues to enhance its ChatGPT chatbot with the introduction of two new features: real-time video capabilities and a festive “Santa mode.” These additions further expand ChatGPT’s functionality and add a touch of holiday cheer to the AI experience.
With the rollout of real-time video, ChatGPT can now interpret visual information in real-time. Users can simply point their phone’s camera at an object, and ChatGPT will provide an instant response, eliminating the need for uploading photos or typing descriptions. This feature is available to ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Pro subscribers using the ChatGPT app.
Additionally, ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode now supports screen sharing, allowing the chatbot to interpret and respond to content displayed on the user’s device. Whether it’s explaining a settings menu or guiding you through a complex problem, ChatGPT can offer assistance through visual interpretation.
To further enhance the holiday spirit, OpenAI has introduced “Santa mode,” a festive voice preset for ChatGPT. Users can activate this mode by tapping or clicking the snowflake icon next to the app prompt bar, adding a touch of holiday magic to their interactions with the chatbot.

The rollout of these new features is expected to be completed within a week, although ChatGPT Enterprise and Edu subscribers will have to wait until January. Users in the EU, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein do not yet have a confirmed timeline for access.
These updates position OpenAI as a leader in the rapidly evolving field of AI, pushing the boundaries of chatbot capabilities and user experience.
