Segway, a leader in micromobility solutions, has unveiled two new e-bikes at CES 2025: the Xyber, a powerful and stylish off-road e-bike, and the Xafari, a versatile and comfortable cruiser designed for various terrains and riders.
Xyber: Unleash Your Inner Off-Roader
The Segway Xyber is a unique e-bike that defies categorization. With its moto-inspired design and powerful performance, it’s designed for off-road adventures and adrenaline-pumping rides.
The Xyber boasts impressive specs, including up to 175 Nm of torque, 6,000 watts of peak power, and a top speed of 35 miles per hour in its dual-battery configuration. It features three throttle modes – Eco, Sport, and Race – allowing riders to customize their experience. In Race mode, the Xyber can accelerate from 0 to 20 miles per hour in just 2.7 seconds.
Despite its off-road focus, the Xyber still offers pedals and 12 levels of pedal assist, providing flexibility for different riding styles. It also boasts a range of up to 112 miles on a single charge, ensuring long-lasting adventures.
Priced at $2,999.99, the Xyber is not road legal in its initial configuration. However, Segway plans to release a road-legal version in the spring or summer of 2025, complying with Class 2 e-bike regulations and featuring additional safety features for on-road use.
Xafari: The E-Bike for Everyone
The Segway Xafari is a versatile and comfortable e-bike designed for riders of all levels and terrains. Its classic step-through design and adjustable features make it adaptable to various riders, with a height range of 5’1″ to 6’2″.
The Xafari prioritizes comfort with its adjustable suspension system, featuring adjustable preload, compression damping, and lockout on the fork. It also boasts 26 x 3-inch tires for added stability and support.
The e-bike is equipped with a 936 Kw battery seamlessly integrated into the stem. It can be easily removed for indoor charging and offers a range of up to 88 miles. The battery also features a USB port for charging devices on the go.
The Xafari’s integrated smart display provides navigation, range information, music control, and more. It also comes with a rear-mounted rack and in-frame bags for convenient storage, making it suitable for running errands or carrying cargo.
Priced at $2,399.99, the Xafari offers a compelling combination of comfort, versatility, and technology, making it an ideal choice for riders seeking an e-bike for everyday use and exploration.
