Apple Music tests easier playlist transfers for Android users

Apple I testing a new feature in beta testing for the Apple Music Android app. The feature aims to streamline the process of transferring playlists and music libraries from rival streaming services to Apple Music.

Select beta testers are seeing a prompt in the Apple Music Android app offering to “add saved music and playlists you made in other music services to your Apple Music library.” This integration utilizes a third-party service app called SongShift, which helps move playlists between platforms. However, even testers with the prompt can’t access the fully functional feature just yet.

This move aims to make it easier for Android users to switch to Apple Music by removing a significant hurdle – rebuilding playlists. Importantly, SongShift itself is only available on iOS, hinting at an eventual similar feature for iPhone users.
