New hexagon seating on planes: Seriously?

GEEK DESK

A new in-flight seating plan has been announced with an aim to make better use of cabin space – but would force passengers to face one another.

Zodiac Seats France, an airline industry supplier has filed a patent which proposes a new design layout that features alternating forward and backward facing seats placed side by side. The new design named ‘Hexagon’ would increase the number of passengers that can be accommodated on a Boeing 767 by up to 80 additional seats. The company said that the new configuration will eliminate elbow wars.

Crazy right? Well fear not, Hexagon is only a patent. Zodiac has no plans to make it a reality anytime soon……we hope.
