IFA 2014 is a week away and we already got Qualcomm teasing their upcoming processors, tweeting: “We’re thinking about your future: a #Snapdragon powered multi-core 64-bit smartphone is headed to @IFA_Berlin.
The tweet had an attached photo showing a device with “IT’S COMING…”
However, if you look closely, the device has a similar design language of the HTC One series, having the 2 dots on the right as the “BoomSound” speakers and the front camera.
HTC also teased this photo below, showing the same device, but with 64 on the left. Which, apparently, may confirm that HTC will be the first Android manufacteur to release a 64 bit smartphone which will be called “Desire 820”, weibo originally posted the photo teasing that device.
The desire 820 is said to be a 5.5″ phablet with 720 p screen, 13MP main camera and a HUGE 8MP front camera, talk about a selfie phone 😉
The phone will also have 2,600 mAh Li-Po battery, however we’re not sure yet if it will perform as good as the HTC One M8’s 2,600 mAh battery.
Earlier yesterday, HTC released the HTC Desire 510, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Chipset which does support 64bit, however it’s a normal 32 bit device.
But what’s interesting is the chipset on the Desire 820 is also the same, named “MSM8916”, so Desire 820 might be the version with that 64 bit processor.
