Western Digital, a leading provider of data storage solutions, showcased its latest innovations for enterprise-class surveillance systems, hyperscale data centers, and cloud providers at Intersec 2025. The company highlighted its commitment to delivering high-capacity, high-performance, and energy-efficient hard disk drives (HDDs) that meet the evolving needs of modern data-intensive applications.

With the rise of advanced cameras, AI-enabled recording systems, and the increasing volume of high-definition video and metadata generated by surveillance systems, the demand for robust and scalable storage solutions has never been greater. Western Digital demonstrated how its HDDs are designed to address these challenges, offering not just capacity but also the performance and reliability required for demanding surveillance workloads.

At Intersec 2025, Western Digital provided attendees with interactive experiences and demonstrations of its HDDs and proprietary technologies. Using Augmented Reality (AR), visitors could explore the features and benefits of the company’s storage solutions.

Western Digital celebrated ten years of its WD Purple line of surveillance-optimized HDDs and provided a regional preview of the upcoming WD Purple Pro 26TB CMR HDD. This latest addition to the WD Purple family offers the highest capacity in its class, making it ideal for video analytics servers, AI, and deep learning systems.

The company also showcased its recently launched Ultrastar DC HC690 HDD, the world’s first 11-disk HDD with a capacity of up to 32TB. This high-capacity SMR HDD is designed for cost-effective deep content storage at scale, enabling hyperscale data centers and cloud providers to efficiently manage massive datasets.

In addition to individual HDDs, Western Digital featured its Ultrastar Data60 Hybrid Storage Platform, a JBOD solution that offers a raw storage capacity of up to 1.56PB. This platform is designed for next-generation disaggregated storage and software-defined storage (SDS) infrastructure, providing flexibility and scalability for modern data centers.

Throughout its presence at Intersec 2025, Western Digital emphasized its commitment to helping customers optimize their IT infrastructure, lower total cost of ownership (TCO), and future-proof their data strategies. The company’s high-capacity HDDs, innovative technologies, and hybrid storage platforms are designed to address the growing storage demands of businesses across various industries.
