Waze enhances navigation with multifunction display support

Waze has introduced a new feature that allows its navigation data to be mirrored on the multifunction displays (MFDs) found behind the steering wheels of select vehicles. This integration provides drivers with a more convenient and distraction-free way to access crucial navigation information.

The feature utilizes Android Auto or Apple CarPlay to project key Waze data onto the MFD, including the mapping route and estimated time of arrival. This allows drivers to quickly glance at essential navigation details without needing to look at the larger infotainment screen, minimizing distractions and enhancing safety.

Currently, the amount of information displayed on the MFD is limited to minimize distractions. Drivers will still need to refer to the main infotainment screen for more detailed information, such as road hazards and traffic incidents.

This feature is compatible with select vehicle models from manufacturers like BMW, Ford, Polestar, and Volvo that support app information display on their MFDs. To utilize this functionality, drivers will need the latest version of the Waze app (version 5.4).
