Meta’s Threads gets a major update with the rollout of tags. The new tags (without the # symbol) are rolling out globally after being test in Australia. The tags will be limited to one per post to avoid tag spam, the company said.
Unlike traditional hashtags, you can use a phrase with space in it along with special characters as well. When composing a post, you can start a tag by tapping the # symbol and then typing your topic.
In a post, Instagram head Adam Mosseri said that the company hopes that this design will lead to less engagement hacking.
