Tesla has unveiled that is has delivered 1.809 million EVs in the last quarter of 2023, surpassing its 2022 deliveries by a 38%. Tesla’s originally said it would sell 2 million vehicles in 2023, but revised its figures in October 2023.
Tesla handed over 484,507 vehicles in the last quarter of 2023, 461,538 Model 3 cars and Model Y, and about 23,000 units of its other models.
BYD in the other hand, sold 526,409 fully electric vehicles in the quarter with its broader lineup of cheaper models in China. BYD’s annual deliveries were 3.02 million, including 1.4 million plug-in hybrid EVs. With these overall yearly numbers, Tesla was still ahead in full-electric vehicle deliveries for 2023.
