Samsung has announced a new Galaxy product launch event scheduled for October 21st. While the company remains tight-lipped on specifics, it’s widely anticipated that the event will unveil a special edition of the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
The teaser video released by Samsung showcases a paper-thin invitation shaped like a square, hinting at an ultra-slim foldable device. Recent rumors and leaks have pointed to a special edition Galaxy Z Fold 6 with a remarkably thin profile, measuring just 10.6mm when closed. This would be a significant reduction compared to the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6, which measures 12.1mm thick.
Leaked images of the device, previously referred to as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim, have surfaced online, revealing a sleek design with a brushed metal finish and a more prominent camera module. It’s speculated that this larger camera bump could house a substantial 200MP camera sensor.
While the focus on thinness is evident, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition is unlikely to claim the title of the world’s thinnest foldable, given the recent launch of the Honor Magic V3, which measures a mere 9.3mm thick.
The announcement of the upcoming launch has so far been limited to Samsung’s South Korean newsroom, suggesting that the rollout of this special edition foldable may be restricted to select markets.
