OPPO has announced the global launch of its latest flagship smartphones, the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro. These devices offer a compelling combination of camera technology, performance capabilities, and battery life, complemented by the new ColorOS 15 operating system with integrated AI solutions.
Design and Display
Both the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro feature a premium design with a blend of glass and aluminum, highlighted by the “Cosmos Ring” design element. Despite housing advanced camera systems, the phones maintain a slim profile. The Find X8, with its 6.59-inch display, offers a compact and immersive experience, while the Find X8 Pro boasts a larger 6.78-inch “Infinite View Display.” Both models are dust and water-resistant with IP68 and IP69 ratings.
The Find X8 and Find X8 Pro offer vibrant and smooth visuals with their 120Hz displays and high peak brightness, ensuring comfortable viewing even in bright sunlight. The displays also support HDR content playback, providing an enhanced visual experience. The Find X8 features ultra-thin bezels, measuring just 1.45mm, creating an almost edge-to-edge display effect.
Camera System
The Find X8 series introduces a new camera system developed in collaboration with Hasselblad. Both phones feature a 50MP main camera, with the Find X8 Pro adding a 135mm (6x) periscope camera for extended zoom capabilities. The Find X8 Pro is notable for being the first globally available smartphone with two periscope cameras.
The camera system includes features such as Hasselblad Portrait Mode and AI Telescope Zoom, which extends the zoom range up to 60x. The “Lightning Snap” function allows for capturing a rapid burst of photos without compromising image quality. Video recording capabilities are also robust, with support for Dolby Vision HDR video at up to 4K resolution and 60fps from all cameras.
Performance and Battery
Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro deliver strong performance. This chipset, built on a 3nm process, offers significant improvements in CPU and GPU performance while also enhancing power efficiency. OPPO has implemented a customized cooling system to ensure optimal performance even under demanding tasks.
The Find X8 series incorporates “AI LinkBoost” technology for enhanced connectivity, particularly in environments with high network congestion, such as stadiums. This technology optimizes network performance for faster video uploads and smoother online gaming experiences.
Battery life is a key feature of the Find X8 series. The Find X8 has a 5630mAh battery, while the Find X8 Pro boasts a 5910mAh battery. Both models support fast charging with 80W SUPERVOOC and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging.
Software and AI
The Find X8 series runs on the new ColorOS 15, based on Android 15. This operating system features a refined design and incorporates AI-powered tools for enhanced productivity and creativity. These tools include AI Eraser for object removal in photos, AI Clarity Enhance for improving image resolution, and AI Unblur for restoring detail in blurry images.
ColorOS 15 also integrates AI capabilities into various applications, such as Notes and Documents, for tasks like summarizing content, correcting grammar, and translating text. The operating system also supports Google Circle to Search and features Google Gemini as the digital assistant.
Another notable feature is “Touch to Share,” which allows for one-tap wireless file sharing between iOS/iPadOS and ColorOS 15 devices using NFC technology.
