OpenAI has officially launched Sora, its AI-powered video generation tool, to the public. First announced in February, Sora allows users to create realistic and imaginative videos from text prompts or images.
Accessible through Sora.com, the platform showcases a gallery of recently created videos and featured projects curated by OpenAI. Users can bookmark videos, view the text prompts used to generate them, and even remix existing videos with their own modifications.

Sora offers a range of video editing features, including prompt editing, storyboard creation, and video trimming. The storyboard functionality enables users to combine multiple short videos generated from individual prompts to create longer, more complex narratives.
Users can generate videos up to 20 seconds long in various resolutions and aspect ratios. ChatGPT Plus subscribers can generate up to 50 videos per month at 480p resolution or fewer videos at 720p. ChatGPT Pro users enjoy unlimited video generation at resolutions up to 1080p.
Sora is currently available worldwide, with the exception of Europe, the UK, and China. OpenAI plans to introduce new pricing models tailored to different user types early next year.
