Microsoft is launching a dedicated mini PC designed for its Windows 365 cloud service. Called Windows 365 Link, this $349 device acts as a thin client, connecting users to their cloud-based Windows 11 instances.
The Link device is compact, fanless, and prioritizes simplicity and security. It’s designed to provide a seamless experience for accessing Windows 365 cloud PCs, allowing businesses to transition employees to virtual machines that can be streamed to various devices.
Windows 365 Link boots quickly, wakes instantly from sleep, and uses dedicated chips to process video for applications like Microsoft Teams and Webex. It features a range of ports, including USB-A, USB-C, DisplayPort, HDMI, and Ethernet, as well as Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless connectivity.

The device runs a lightweight, hardened version of Windows focused on security and ease of access to cloud PCs. It can be easily managed by IT administrators through Microsoft Intune.
While HP, Dell, and Lenovo offer similar thin client PCs, Microsoft believes its Windows 365 Link provides a more compelling alternative, particularly for businesses already using Windows 365. The company plans to expand the availability of Windows 365 Link devices through partnerships with OEMs in the future.

Windows 365 Link will also be part of Microsoft’s Copilot Plus device family, potentially integrating AI experiences into the cloud PC environment.
Currently in preview, Windows 365 Link will be available in select markets starting in April 2025.
