Meizu has officially entered the Middle East market, holding a product launch event in Dubai from April 12–13 alongside Geely Auto. The company introduced a range of AI-focused ecosystem products, including smartphones, smart wearables, and connected car technology, in a move aimed at boosting its global presence.
At the event, Meizu unveiled several smartphones designed for international markets, including the Meizu 21 series, Note 22 series, Mblu 21, Mblu 22 Pro, and the AI-enhanced Meizu Lucky 08. Smart wearables were also on display, such as the StarV Air2 and StarV View smart glasses, and the new StarV Ring2 smart ring.
To cater to the needs of Middle Eastern users, Meizu announced Arabic language support for the StarV Air2 smart glasses’ real-time multilingual translation feature. The update expands the number of supported languages to 14, with the Arabic update scheduled for release by the end of April.
The launch in Dubai reflects Meizu’s push to implement its Flyme AI ecosystem strategy internationally. The company has previously focused on Asia-Pacific markets, but now considers the Middle East a critical region due to its strategic location and growing demand for connected devices.
This expansion follows Meizu’s participation at MWC 2025, where it outlined its vision for an AI-integrated device ecosystem. The Flyme Auto system, developed in partnership with Geely, plays a central role in this strategy by integrating smartphones, AR devices, and smart vehicles. Flyme Auto is now featured in over 23 car models and has seen growing adoption across Geely’s brands.
In Q1 2025, Meizu expanded into markets such as Indonesia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and Australia, with its AI products now available in more than 30 countries and regions. The company reported over 910,000 vehicles equipped with Flyme Auto to date, with 310,000 new installations in March alone.
Meizu’s StarV AR glasses series reportedly captured a significant portion of the Chinese market after its launch in September 2024. According to industry reports, the company now ranks among China’s leading AR device makers, thanks to the deployment of advanced optical waveguide technology and a full-stack ecosystem model.
As part of the broader DreamSmart Group, Meizu is aligning its growth strategy across three main areas: smartphones, extended reality (XR), and smart vehicles. The group is leveraging cross-industry expertise to scale its AI-based product offerings for global markets.
Meizu’s growing presence in connected ecosystems—linking mobile, wearables, and automotive experiences—signals a long-term commitment to building a competitive global tech portfolio. As the brand continues to expand outside of China, its focus remains on creating a unified user experience across multiple smart platforms.
