Google has finally released its dedicated Gemini app for iPhone users, following a soft launch in select regions earlier this week. Previously, iOS users could only access Gemini through a limited tab within the main Google app.
The standalone Gemini app offers a more comprehensive experience, including support for Gemini Live, the interactive AI chatbot. With Gemini Live, users can engage in dynamic conversations with the AI, even when the app is minimized. The app also integrates with the iPhone’s Dynamic Island and Live Activities, providing a seamless and intuitive user experience.
While free to download and use, the Gemini app offers optional in-app purchases for Gemini Advanced tiers, providing access to more powerful AI capabilities. Users can also manage Gemini Extensions, view Gems (saved AI creations), and more.
