OpenAI has updated its ChatGPT app for iOS with a new integration for Apple’s Shortcuts app. Users with access to the SearchGPT feature can now utilize a dedicated shortcut to quickly launch the ChatGPT app and initiate a web search.
SearchGPT, introduced in late October, is designed to provide more comprehensive and contextually relevant search results compared to traditional search engines. It leverages OpenAI’s advanced language model to deliver informative answers alongside links to relevant web sources. Users can also ask follow-up questions to refine their search or explore related topics.
Currently, SearchGPT is available to ChatGPT Plus and ChatGPT Teams subscribers, with plans to expand access to free users in the near future.
To utilize the new Shortcuts action, users must have the latest version of the ChatGPT app installed on their iPhone or iPad. Once updated, the “Open SearchGPT” action will be available within the Shortcuts app, providing a streamlined way to access this powerful AI-powered search tool.
