Called ‘nearby items,’ this functionality allows users to tag their stored passwords and other sensitive data with specific physical locations. This means that when you’re near the location where those credentials are needed, they will be automatically surfaced in the 1Password app, saving you the hassle of searching through your vault or trying to remember exactly how you labeled a particular item.
Imagine this: you arrive at your doctor’s office and need to quickly access your health records. With ‘nearby items,’ those records will be readily available as soon as you step into the building. Or perhaps you’re at the gym and want to connect to the WiFi; your 1Password app will automatically present you with the network password. Setting up ‘nearby items’ is simple. Users can add location information to any new or existing item in their 1Password vault. The app has also been updated with a handy map view, allowing users to easily visualize and manage the locations associated with their various credentials.
