Nothing is expanding its budget-focused CMF audio lineup with the launch of the CMF Clip Pro, the brand’s first pair of open-ear wireless earbuds. The new model arrives as demand for open-ear designs continues to grow, offering an alternative for users who want to stay aware of their surroundings without sacrificing wireless convenience.
Priced at £79 in the UK and $99 in the US, the CMF Clip Pro will be available from 15 August in the UK, US and Japan, with a wider rollout across Europe and other global markets scheduled for 15 September.
The earbuds use a three-point clip-on design that wraps around the ear instead of sitting inside the ear canal. This approach has become increasingly popular among runners, cyclists and commuters, allowing users to hear music while remaining aware of traffic, conversations and other environmental sounds. Unlike traditional in-ear earbuds, the Clip Pro does not include active noise cancellation, reflecting its focus on situational awareness rather than isolation.

Each earbud houses a custom-tuned 10.8mm dynamic driver and supports Hi-Res Audio playback through the LDAC codec, alongside AAC and SBC compatibility. Nothing has also included its Ultra Bass audio processing, which is designed to reinforce low-frequency performance despite the limitations typically associated with open-ear audio designs.
Battery life is another area where the absence of active noise cancellation offers an advantage. Nothing says the earbuds can deliver up to 10 hours of playback on a single charge, extending to a total of 32.5 hours when combined with the charging case. A quick 10-minute charge is rated to provide up to four hours of listening time.
One of the more distinctive features is the charging case itself. Borrowing from CMF’s established industrial design language, the case incorporates a rotating smart dial that allows users to control playback, adjust volume and manage calls without reaching for a connected smartphone.
Connectivity is handled via Bluetooth 5.4, while a dedicated low-latency mode aims to improve responsiveness during mobile gaming and video playback. An IP54 rating provides resistance against dust, sweat and light rain, making the earbuds suitable for workouts and outdoor use.
The launch also broadens Nothing’s own audio portfolio. The company already offers the premium Ear (open), but the CMF Clip Pro targets a lower price bracket with a more compact design. The move mirrors Nothing’s wider strategy of positioning CMF as an accessible entry point into its ecosystem while reserving more advanced features for its flagship products.
Open-ear earbuds have become one of the fastest-growing segments of the wireless audio market, with manufacturers including Huawei, Bose, Shokz and Sennheiser all introducing new clip-on or open-fit models over the past year. By bringing the format to its affordable CMF lineup, Nothing is positioning itself to compete in a category that continues to attract users looking for greater comfort and improved awareness during everyday listening.
