Acer has refreshed its TravelMate business laptop lineup with four models that bring current Intel processors and AI features to both large enterprises and smaller firms. The flagship is the TravelMate P6 14 AI, a Windows 11 Copilot+ PC built around Intel Core Ultra Series 3 chips with vPro support. Acer positions it as a sub-1kg portable machine offering up to 150 TOPS of platform AI performance, though actual AI workload results will depend on the software and tasks involved. Battery life is quoted at up to 30 hours in video playback tests on certain configurations, a figure that drops under more demanding productivity benchmarks and real-world mixed use.
The chassis combines carbon fiber with magnesium-aluminum alloy and introduces Acer’s Comfort Touch surface treatment on both the keyboard and body. The goal is improved tactile feedback during extended typing sessions, a practical concern for travelers who still rely on physical keyboards more than touchscreens. Connectivity covers Wi-Fi 7 and Thunderbolt 4, while the 71 Wh battery supports fast charging to roughly 80 percent in an hour. Weight varies by panel choice: the lightest OLED configuration dips under a kilogram, while the more common WUXGA version climbs closer to 1.3 kg. The TravelMate P2 Spin 14 is a 2-in-1 convertible with a 360-degree hinge, WUXGA touchscreen, and a garaged Wacom stylus. It carries both user-facing and world-facing cameras, Wi-Fi 7, and the usual suite of noise-reduction and video-enhancement software. The TravelMate X2 15 and X2 14 target smaller businesses with clamshell designs, MIL-STD 810H durability ratings, discrete TPM chips, and optional fingerprint readers. The 15.6-inch version includes a numeric keypad for spreadsheet-heavy work, while the 14-inch model stays lighter at about 1.4 kg.
These additions arrive in a market where lightweight AI-capable business laptops are no longer rare. Competitors have already shipped similarly thin chassis and Copilot+ features, so the real test will be long-term software support, repairability, and whether the Comfort Touch surfaces hold up after months of travel. Pricing and regional availability have not been detailed, but the range clearly aims to cover both premium mobile executives and cost-conscious IT managers looking for standardized, manageable hardware.
