Google wants to remove the spacebar from your laptop

A new patent awarded to Google could change the way we use the spacebar and save space.

In the patent, Google showed a spacebar that is expanded from the actual trackpad. Part of the trackpad, separated by a line would serve as a space bar, and the rest as a trackpad.

(US Patent and Trademark Office)
According to the patent, Google is aiming to create smaller laptops by pushing the trackpad up towards the keyboard.

Makes sense? what do you think?

It’s also worth noting that not all patents actually turn into products.
