WhatsApp has unveiled exciting updates for its Communities feature, aiming to foster stronger connections and better organization within groups. The new tools enable easier event planning and a more structured way to respond to announcements.
Now, planning gatherings – whether it’s a virtual meeting or a neighborhood potluck – is a breeze directly within WhatsApp. Anyone in a Community group can create events and others can easily RSVP, ensuring everyone knows who’s attending. Event details are conveniently displayed on the group’s information page, and attendees receive automatic reminders as the event approaches. This feature will be gradually rolled out to all groups over time.
In addition, WhatsApp is introducing “organized replies” within Announcement Groups. This allows admins to better gauge member feedback while keeping the group focused on essential updates. Replies to announcements are neatly grouped and minimized, providing context and avoiding notification overload.
“We’re thrilled to see how Communities has helped people connect over shared interests,” said a WhatsApp spokesperson. “These new features make it even easier for groups to stay organized and engaged.”
WhatsApp plans to continue enhancing Communities and groups with more features in the coming months, promising to share additional updates through their blog and the in-app WhatsApp Channel.
