Shark CryoGlow LED Mask launches in UAE with cooling under-eye feature

The Shark CryoGlow LED Mask has arrived in the UAE market, adding another option to the growing selection of at-home light therapy devices aimed at addressing common skin concerns without regular clinic visits. Priced at AED 1,499 and available in lilac, the mask combines red, blue, and deep infrared LED lights with a cooling feature for the under-eye area, positioning it as a convenient daily skincare tool.

SharkNinja, the parent company known for its household appliances, has developed the CryoGlow in collaboration with dermatologists. It features multiple treatment modes delivered through a full-face design with high-energy LEDs. The device includes what the company calls InstaChill technology, offering adjustable cooling levels to target puffiness around the eyes. Users can select from blended blue light sessions for blemish reduction, red and infrared combinations for redness and texture, a shorter maintenance mode, and a dedicated under-eye revive setting that runs from five to 15 minutes.

Clinical testing cited by the company shows measurable results over time. In one 12-week study with daily eight-minute blue, red, and infrared sessions, participants saw improvements in blemishes and complexion smoothness within four weeks. Another study using six-minute red and infrared treatments reported reduced redness and roughness after eight weeks, along with increased radiance. These outcomes come with the standard disclaimer that individual results vary, and the studies involved relatively small groups of around 60 participants.

The launch reflects a broader trend in consumer skincare toward professional-grade tools for home use, accelerated by the pandemic when many people sought alternatives to in-office treatments. LED masks have been around for years in dermatology clinics, where controlled light wavelengths help stimulate collagen or reduce bacteria. At-home versions like the CryoGlow make this accessible, though they generally deliver lower energy levels than clinical equipment and require consistent use to show effects.

The inclusion of under-eye cooling stands out as a practical addition, addressing a frequent complaint about tired-looking eyes in a region where heat, sun exposure, and long workdays take a toll. However, as with most LED devices, expectations should remain measured. While the technology has solid scientific backing for certain benefits like mild acne reduction and improved skin texture, dramatic anti-aging transformations are unlikely from any single gadget. Results depend heavily on skin type, adherence to the routine, and complementary habits like sun protection and basic skincare.

The CryoGlow fits into daily routines with remote-controlled modes lasting six to eight minutes for most treatments. It joins a competitive field that includes established players offering similar multi-wavelength masks, some at lower price points and others with more extensive clinical data. SharkNinja emphasizes listening to consumer needs around blemishes, fine lines, and confidence, which aligns with genuine demand in markets like the UAE.

Overall, the device represents a solid entry in the at-home skincare category, blending familiar LED therapy with a targeted cooling element. Those considering it should view it as a supportive tool rather than a complete solution, ideally after consulting a dermatologist to match it to their specific skin profile. The mask is now available through sharkcleanme.com in the UAE.
