Threads is launching a major upgrade to its desktop version. The new interface, now available globally, allows users to personalize their experience by pinning multiple columns side-by-side, similar to TweetDeck (now X Pro).
This update, announced by Instagram head Adam Mosseri, has been in the works for some time, with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg previously teasing its development. It aims to enhance organization and multitasking for users, enabling them to curate the content they see.
Users can now add columns for various features, including For You, Following, Liked, Saved, Search, and Profile. This means you can have a dedicated space for Instagram’s recommendations alongside your own saved posts. Additionally, you can pin columns for mentions or followers.
Adding a topic or hashtag as a column is simple: just search for it and click on the desired result. Each column has a menu with options to unpin it or pause automatic updates.
Overall, this upgrade offers Threads users more control and flexibility over their desktop experience, making it easier to stay organized and engage with the content that matters most to them.
