Spotify reportedly readying new subscription tier with HiFi audio

According to Bloomberg, Spotify will be releasing a new subscription tier which will open up its long awaited HiFi quality streaming to the public.

Spotify promised that a HiFi option was in the works more than two years ago, but looks like this is finally happening now, although no date was confirmed yet.

Bloomberg also said that the tier will launch this year in select markets, before coming to the US. The new subscription tier is currently being referred to as “Supremium” inside Spotify, according to the report as well.

As a comparison in the region, lossless audio is currently offered by Apple Music as no extra cost on subscribers.
