Sony launches IER-EX15C USB-C wired earphones for $30

Sony has introduced a new budget-friendly set of wired earphones, the IER-EX15C, designed for devices with USB-C connections. Priced at $30, the in-ear headphones are now available through Sony’s official US website in black, blue, pink, and white color options.

The IER-EX15C features 5mm neodymium drivers, with Sony claiming they deliver clear vocals alongside stronger bass response. A built-in microphone and in-line remote provide standard functionality, including play/pause, track skipping, call management, microphone mute, and quick access to a preferred voice assistant. Volume controls are also integrated into the remote.

The design includes a serrated, tangle-resistant cable with an adjustable slider, aimed at reducing knots during storage and use. For fit, the earphones ship with three sets of silicone tips in sizes XS, M, and XL.

While wired headphones have become less common in recent years, demand for simple, plug-and-play audio accessories has remained steady — especially among users who prefer a direct USB-C connection without the need for adapters or wireless pairing. At $30, the IER-EX15C lands squarely in the entry-level segment, appealing to buyers who want an affordable backup pair or a lightweight option for everyday use.
