Nothing appears to be preparing a significant shift in strategy with the upcoming release of its Phone (3) and first over-ear headphones, Headphone (1). Leaked pricing and product details suggest the company is ready to leave behind its mid-range roots in favor of a more premium positioning, both in smartphones and personal audio.

According to new information shared by a known leaker on social media, the Nothing Phone 3 is expected to launch in July 2025 with a starting price of $799 for the base model featuring 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. A higher-tier version with 16GB of RAM and 512GB storage is reportedly set at $899. These figures reflect a notable jump from the pricing of its predecessors, and closely match CEO Carl Pei’s earlier hints at pricing around £800.

Color options are said to include the brand’s signature black and white. Notably, the leak suggests Nothing may replace its distinctive Glyph interface with a new dot-matrix-style display system. While this change isn’t confirmed, it indicates that the company may be rethinking the design language it’s used to differentiate its devices so far.

On the audio front, Nothing’s entry into the over-ear headphone category marks a new product direction. The Nothing Headphone 1 is rumored to arrive by the end of September at $299, placing it in direct competition with established offerings like Sony’s WH-1000XM series and Bose’s QuietComfort line. Available in the same minimalist color palette, the headphones are expected to feature active noise cancellation and transparency modes, building on features introduced in the Ear (2) and Ear (a).

Internally, the Phone 3 is said to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and will feature a triple-lens camera setup, each sensor reportedly offering 50 megapixels. These specs would put it in the same performance tier as the upcoming Pixel 10 and Samsung Galaxy S25 series, positioning the device firmly in the high-end Android category.

While Nothing has built a reputation on design-forward devices at accessible price points, its move into the flagship tier comes with risks. Higher pricing demands more from both hardware and software, and consumers in the premium segment often have deeply entrenched brand preferences. It remains to be seen whether Nothing’s product design and feature set will be enough to carve out meaningful share against more established players.

With the official announcement expected in the coming weeks, and Headphone (1) following later in the year, further details are likely to emerge. For now, Nothing’s latest product leak makes one thing clear: the brand is betting on a more ambitious future.
