‘Nawartoona’: Apple’s curated content to enjoy this Ramadan

In Arabic, Nawartoona [Nah-wur-Too-Nah] is a welcoming expression used upon the arrival of friends and family to your home, meaning you’ve blessed us. 

Ramadan is upon use, and so is the time of reflection, togetherness, and faith. During this time of the year, people will be looking for ways to fill their days with activities using their smartphones, and spending time watching their favorite series. 

Apple has complied some of the best apps, music and TV shows for the month Ramadan under its nawartoona campaign,  from looking up iftar recipes and family entertainment to streaming a serene ‘morning playlists.

Below are the top highlights available on each service this holy month.

App Store

The App Store will be featuring original stories and collections on the Today tab during the month of Ramadan highlighting unique content including apps and games with special offers. 

  • Feel good this Ramadan which highlights all the lead stories and different in-app events throughout the month. 
  • Ramadan favourites bringing together customers favorite apps, necessary during the month of Ramadan. 
  • Master your transitions is a how-to story to help users create short eye-catching clips of their special moments using CapCut.
  • Host a great game night highlights popular multiplayer games where family and friends come together to play.

Below is a list of apps across various feel good categories to download from the App Store: 

  • Family:
    • Andalusi: Capture the best moments over Iftar or animate your favorite quotes, and use Andalusi to add text, filters, and edit easily before sharing with friends and family.
    • Recipes by Arabesque Kitchen: stocked with a vast variety of Mediterranean-style dishes that are sure to keep everyone happy at mealtimes. 
  • Entertainment: 
    • Wajeez: Get caught up on a vast array of well-known books originally written in English and summarized to Arabic.
    • Abjjad: Get immersed in a massive ebook library of international and Arabic titles with bestselling novels, kids’ books, and non-fiction works. 
  • Gaming:  
    • Yalla Ludo – Ludo & Domino: Kill time and play Ludo or Domino with your friends online.
    • Kammelna and Jawaker: Card Games & Friends: Play Baloot, Tarneeb, and kill time playing the best Arab card games. 

Apple Music

Apple Music is bringing an ‘Inspired by Faith’ playlist dedicated to feeling good Islamic music collected from around the world featuring top artists within the genre, inspiring serenity and peace. In its Ramadan edition, Up close & Personal, is taking fans on a personal journey of Maher Zain and Dhafer Youssef. Through intimate interviews, both artists share how they use music to deal with mental health and employ it as a vehicle for healing influencing their millions of fans worldwide. You can also choose to kickstart the day differently, with an Islamic and pop brew with ‘The Morning Playlist.’

Apple TV

On the Apple TV app, enjoy a dedicated space called “Ramadan Entertainment” highlighting the best of Apple TV+ such as Severance, Shrinking, and many other award winning shows and movies. You can also enjoy an exciting line up of Arabic series lined up on Shahid including Lil Mawt Season 3. The shows focus on daily episodic drops of Ramadan specific series, comedy and drama shows to binge, noteworthy movies as well as cooking shows for meal inspiration.

On Apple Podcasts this Ramadan, there is a dedicated hub to help you find the perfect podcast. From interesting interviews to keep you intrigued while cooking a big meal, or a calm and soothing listen to help you unwind while you fast, explore a great selection of podcasts.
