Google unveiled its latest hardware, and software at Google I/O 2023, starting with Android 14, to maps, Google Bard, all the way to the new Pixels. Here’s a look at some of the top announcements.
We start with the new Pixels. Google launched three new products: the Pixel Fold, the Pixel Tablet, and the budget-friendly Pixel 7A.
Pixel Fold marks Google’s first entry into the foldable market. The new Pixel features a 5.8-inch OLED outer screen with another 7.6-inch display which appears once unfolded. The second screen as also

an OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Price tag on the Pixel Fold is $1,799.
Google also introduced the Pixel 7A, featuring Google’s Tensor G2 chip, with a 6.1-inch 1080p display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The Pixel 7A starts at $499.

Lastly, in the Pixel line, there a new 11-inch Pixel Tablet, which has a dual functionality, of a tablet and a smart display thanks to its magnetic charging dock that doubles as a speaker.

Moving to Maps, which introduced a new “Immersive View for Routes” feature in select cities. The new view will bring detailed information to users like traffic simulations, bike lanes, complex intersections, parkings and a lot more. The new feature will roll out on Android and iOS in 15 cities, including Amsterdam, Berlin, Dublin, Florence, Las Vegas, London, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Paris, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, Tokyo and Venice.

Next up, Magic Editor and Magic Compose. Google’s Magic Editor is an AI-powered feature that brings powerful editing capabilities to photos from editing very specific parts of a photo and move subject around for a better outcome. Magic Compose is a new features that can rewrite texts in messages and conversation is different styles and change sentiments, or turn your message more professional.
Bard is now available to everyone. YES! Google dropped the waitlist and opened access to its AI-powered chatbot to everyone. Check it out here.
Google Search intorduces AI-powered “snapshots”. In a nutshell, Google Search is getting an update where you can opt in for snapshots, which will start pushing AI-powered answers at the top of your search results. In addition to the AI aspect, Google is also pushing more “human” results to balance the results with its new Perspectives feature, which lets you get answers from humans sourced from Reddit, YouTube, personal blogs, and others.

Still in the AI world, Android is also getting AI-powered customizations with features that will let you use AI to create your own wallpaper. You’ll be able to describe an image, which will be generated using Google’s text-to-image diffusion model.
Wear OS 4 is also coming later this year with improvementsin battery life, new back up and restore and accessibility features.

Improved Google Home app. The new Google Home app is no longer in private preview, and will be rolled out on May 11th, with some major improvements, including a better camera interface.
