BOOX Tab X C brings color ePaper and Android 13 to the 13.3-inch tablet space

BOOX has introduced the Tab X C, a 13.3-inch color ePaper tablet designed to offer a focused, paperless alternative for productivity and reading. Powered by Android 13 and packaged in a minimalist 5.3mm frame, the Tab X C is the latest evolution in BOOX’s tablet lineup, integrating powerful hardware with a refined digital ink experience.

At the center of the device is a Kaleido 3 color E Ink display, sized roughly to an A4 sheet—making it ideal for document review, data analysis, and content annotation. The screen supports 150 PPI for color content and 300 PPI for black-and-white, aiming to deliver the readability of traditional paper while enabling richer visual content. Adjustable front lighting ensures usability across lighting environments, whether in the office or on the move.

While the display is central to the Tab X C’s appeal, its functionality goes beyond reading. With an octa-core processor, 6GB of RAM, and BOOX’s proprietary BSR tech for enhanced refresh rates, the tablet supports multitasking features such as split-screen views for comparing documents, analyzing charts, or combining note-taking with reading. The device’s deep space gray finish and ultra-slim chassis offer a design that fits into professional contexts without compromising on performance.

What sets the Tab X C apart from typical e-ink devices is its software flexibility. Running Android 13 with full access to the Google Play Store, users can install third-party productivity apps, creating a workspace tailored to individual workflows—whether for business planning, remote collaboration, or creative development.

The new InkSpire stylus adds another layer to the experience, offering pressure-sensitive writing and sketching for accurate annotations or brainstorming. Paired with a compatible keyboard case, the Tab X C accommodates both typing and handwriting without switching devices, giving users the flexibility to switch between input modes as needed.

For professionals managing large files, the tablet supports PDF annotation, optical character recognition (OCR), and gesture controls through the NeoReader app. Features like Smart Scribe enhance note-taking by refining handwritten input and organizing content efficiently, with templates and drawing tools included to support varied workflows.

The Tab X C is positioned not just as a reading tablet, but as a complete, distraction-minimized productivity hub. Its eye-friendly display, multitasking tools, and hybrid input options aim to support a smoother transition between work and personal use. Whether it’s editing reports, exploring design concepts, or reading research material, the Tab X C is built to keep users engaged without the sensory fatigue associated with backlit displays.

Available now via the official BOOX Shop, the Tab X C is priced at $819.99 / £759.99 / €819.99. With this release, BOOX continues to refine the use case for ePaper technology beyond traditional reading—proposing a focused, flexible environment for modern productivity.
