Apple embraces thinness: iPhone 17 set to break records in 2025

Apple, known for pushing the boundaries of design, is reportedly set to break new ground with the iPhone 17, slated to be the company’s thinnest device ever. This revelation comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who suggests that the latest iPad Pro, touted as the “thinnest Apple product ever,” has paved the way for slimmer iPhones and other devices.

Gurman notes a recent shift in Apple’s design philosophy. After years of prioritizing features and functionality over thinness, the company seems to have found a way to achieve both. The new iPad Pro, packed with features like the M4 chip and an OLED display, showcases this new direction.

While the iPhone 16 models expected later this year might not see significant design changes, rumors suggest thinner bezels around the display, thanks to a new manufacturing process. However, this innovation is currently limited to the Pro models.

Gurman predicts that these advancements will culminate in a “significantly skinnier” iPhone 17 in 2025. He also anticipates similar reductions in thickness for future MacBook Pro and Apple Watch models.

This potential shift towards thinner devices marks a return to form for Apple, showcasing their ability to innovate while maintaining their commitment to sleek and elegant design. The iPhone 17 could be a game-changer, setting a new standard for thinness in the smartphone industry.
