Motorola’s upcoming Razr 60 Ultra foldable phone, also known as the Razr Plus (2025) in the US, is generating buzz after a recent certification sighting on India’s BIS portal. This suggests that the device could launch sooner than anticipated, possibly as early as March or April.
The certification, spotted for a device with model number XT2551, follows a pattern consistent with previous Razr releases. Last year’s Razr 50 Ultra received BIS certification in April and launched in June. If this trend holds, the Razr 60 Ultra could arrive months ahead of its predecessor.
While official details remain scarce, expectations are high for the Razr 60 Ultra. It is likely to feature the latest Snapdragon 8s Elite chipset, building on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 found in the current model. Design-wise, Motorola is expected to retain its signature sleek aesthetic, possibly with new color options and vegan leather finishes.
The Razr 60 Ultra is rumored to boast a 6.9-inch main inner display with a potential brightness of 3,000 nits and a refresh rate of 165Hz, offering a smooth and vibrant visual experience.
The Razr 60 Ultra will face stiff competition from Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7, expected to launch in the summer of 2025. However, an earlier launch could give Motorola a strategic advantage, capturing the attention of foldable phone enthusiasts before Samsung’s offering hits the market.
