Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson to lead thriller ‘Down Cemetery Road’ for Apple TV+

Based on the novel by ‘Slow Horses’ author Mick Herron, ‘Down Cemetery Road’ joins a growing lineup of Apple TV+ productions from 60Forty Films. This includes the recently renewed ‘Slow Horses’ and the suspense series ‘Hijack’. Morwenna Banks, a regular ‘Slow Horses’ writer, will take the lead on the script.

The story begins when a suburban home explodes, and a young girl vanishes into the chaos. Neighbor Sarah Tucker (Wilson, ‘The Affair’) becomes determined to solve the mystery and seeks the aid of private detective Zoë Boehm (Thompson, an Oscar and Emmy winner). Their investigation uncovers a conspiracy where the dead might not be so dead, and the living are headed for a similar fate.

“Down Cemetery Road has Mick Herron’s signature wit and sharp writing. I’m thrilled to bring it to Apple TV+ with this amazing cast,” said Apple TV+ creative director for Europe, Jay Hunt. “It’s the perfect companion to ‘Slow Horses’.”

The project features several executive producers, including Banks, Thompson, and Herron. Natalie Bailey (‘Run’, ‘Avenue 5’) will serve as lead director.
