HONOR is taking pre-orders in the UAE for the X9e Pro, priced from AED 1,499. It’s the first phone in the X Series to carry the Pro name, and battery size is the main selling point. The company calls its 11,000mAh cell the largest in any smartphone. The footnotes are less generous: the rated capacity is 10,510mAh, and 11,000mAh is the “typical” figure. That gap is normal in the industry, but buyers comparing spec sheets should know about it.
The X Series has built its name on surviving abuse, and the X9e Pro continues that. HONOR says the phone can survive drops of up to 3 metres thanks to a redesigned shock-absorbing frame. That figure comes from HONOR’s own lab testing. The SGS five-star drop-resistance certification gives a little outside support. The phone is also rated IP69K, and HONOR says it has tested it submerged at 10 metres and splashed with water at 85°C. Even so, the company’s own fine print admits a hard fall can still break it, which is a sensible warning for any phone sold on toughness.
HONOR claims the battery lasts up to three days under its own mixed-use test. It also says the battery will hold up for six years, which matters more. Few phone makers promise that kind of battery health, though only years of real use will show whether it holds. Charging tops out at 80W wired, but only with HONOR’s own charger and cable. The phone can also charge other devices at 27W through the cable, so it can top up earbuds or a second phone.
The 6.8-inch 1.5K screen runs at up to 120Hz. HONOR quotes a peak brightness of 10,000 nits, a number that says more about short highlights than everyday viewing. It can also dim to 1 nit for use in the dark, and touch input is tuned to work with wet hands or gloves. On the back is a 108MP main camera with optical and electronic stabilisation, plus colour correction for underwater shots. The software adds Google Gemini, a one-handed grip mode and an editing tool that turns still photos into short videos.
The pre-order bundle is generous. Early buyers get 12 months of damage protection, a 24-month battery guarantee, an HONOR Watch X5 Play and warranty coverage across the GCC, India, Pakistan and Egypt. HONOR values the extras at AED 646. Buyers also enter a draw for the HONOR Robot Phone, which TIME named one of its Best Inventions of 2026. Open sales start on October 30, in Deep Purple, Reddish Brown, Dawn Gold and Midnight Black. Existing X9 owners get an extra 24-month warranty.
HONOR is also lighting up the Burj Khalifa for the launch, its first time there since the Magic3 in 2021. The bigger question is the six-year battery promise, and buyers will only be able to judge it once these phones are a few years old.
