Yango Play teams up with du to expand streaming access in the UAE

Yango Play has entered the UAE’s competitive digital media space through a new partnership with du, one of the country’s primary telecom operators. As part of the arrangement, the entertainment app will now be included in select du home internet plans, offering customers complimentary access for 12 months.

The service is available through du’s “My Favourites” offering, allowing subscribers to access Yango Play’s mix of video streaming, music, and casual gaming content. This move positions Yango Play as a multipurpose entertainment platform, aiming to compete with established services by bundling several content types under one interface.

Among the highlights is a lineup of Arabic video content, including seven new titles spanning drama, comedy, and family-oriented programming. Four of these are exclusive to Yango Play, a strategy likely aimed at building local relevance and distinguishing the platform in a crowded streaming market. While the exact content details haven’t been disclosed, the emphasis appears to be on stories tailored to regional audiences.

Beyond video, Yango Play also features a music library, algorithm-driven playlists, and interactive games, offering users a range of entertainment options. The app’s appeal lies in its multi-format model, which blends passive and interactive content into a single subscription.

For du, the collaboration aligns with efforts to diversify its service offerings and retain customers through added value. The telecom provider continues to bundle digital subscriptions with core connectivity plans as part of a broader shift toward integrated lifestyle services.

Eligible customers can activate their free year of Yango Play through the du mobile app. The inclusion of the subscription with select home plans reflects a growing trend in telecom-digital media partnerships, especially as content consumption habits shift toward bundled ecosystems.

By offering access to an emerging content platform at no added cost, du and Yango Play are testing whether a bundled entertainment model can boost engagement and attract users seeking alternatives to standalone services.
