Apple TV+ has officially renewed the acclaimed drama series “Sugar” for a second season, with Colin Farrell reprising his role as the enigmatic Detective John Sugar.

The neo-noir thriller, praised for its captivating mystery and unexpected plot twists, has been a hit with audiences and critics alike. The first season, now streaming globally on Apple TV+, left viewers eager for more of Sugar’s complex world.

Following the dramatic events of the first season, Detective Sugar will return to Los Angeles to tackle a new missing persons case. While navigating the city’s dark underbelly, he’ll also continue his personal quest to uncover the truth about his missing sister.

Executive producers Audrey Chon and Simon Kinberg expressed their excitement about the show’s return, praising the collaboration with Apple TV+, showrunner Sam Catlin, and the talented Colin Farrell. They also acknowledged the enthusiastic response from viewers worldwide.

“Sugar” offers a fresh take on the classic private detective genre, with Colin Farrell not only starring but also serving as an executive producer. The series is created by Mark Protosevich, and the second season will be showrun by Sam Catlin.
