Apple TV+ announced today the launch of “My Divo,” its first podcast available in both English and Spanish. The eight-part series, hosted by award-winning journalist Maria Garcia, explores the life and legacy of Mexican singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel. Garcia, who hails from the same hometown as Gabriel, uses his story as a guide to examine her own identity and cultural roots.
“My Divo” is a unique offering for Apple TV+ subscribers. As the first Apple Original podcast included in the connected subscription, it grants subscribers early access to all eight episodes on July 1st. Nonsubscribers can still enjoy the podcast, with the first two episodes available on launch day and the remaining episodes released weekly.
