The 1970 iOS bug kills your iPhone

A new iPhone bug has been discovered that will render your device dead. Setting your iPhone clock to January 1, 1970 will brick it (although i don’t know why someone would actual do that to begin with). The bug is affecting devices with 64-bit processors running iOS 8 or iOS 9 like the iPhone 5S, iPad Air, and iPad Mini 2 and newer.

This post was spotted making rounds and encoring people to discover an easter egg in they iPhones:

The matter started circulating on Reddit with people experimenting on their iOS devices to see if it worked.

Apple didn’t comment on the issue yet.
